Why Generic Derek?
It was a an insult used by some really uncreative kids to try and hurt me a long time ago.
I don’t really get it either. I guess because it rhymes?
If it’s supposed to be an insult, what is it really saying? That I’m a better value than the national brands? That I don’t spend a lot on marketing?
That last part is true as my writing income proves.
At this point, I think it’s funny and the domain name was cheap and available. I offer my apologies to the comedian in New Zealand who used to own it. At least I don’t get his booking emails anymore.
And the kids who used it as an insult? I doubt they remember it – or me. But I remember you, you fuckers.
Writers have a talent for turning personal pain into art, so…thanks?
